The Snow Lake Area

The Snow Lake Area | Island Lake | Fox River Mafic Belt
Flin Flon | Coles Creek | The Cal Claims | Thompson Nickel Belt

The Snow Lake claims include the Herblet, Berry, Sneath Lake, Jean Lake, Watts River and Dion Lake properties, all of which are located within 35km of Snow Lake. Access to the Herblet and Berry claims is by Highway 392, which runs directly through many of the claims. Highway access allows the company to conduct exploration relatively inexpensively.

BERRY CREEK
The Berry claims cover favorable geology in the vicinity of the Chisel Lake Mine, 6km southeast of Snow Lake. Drilling in 2009 intersected a quartz zone bearing 15.40 gm/mt gold across 0.47m This zone is included in a larger width assaying 1.26 gm/mt of gold across 6.49m. The gold bearing structure was intersected in diamond drill hole BR1 between 29.60m and 36.12m. A second gold zone was intersected in hole BR2, returning assays of 0.264 gm/mt gold across 1.13m of core length, including 1.63 gm/mt Au over 0.52m.
The intrusive Sneath Lake pluton, located to the east of the property, dominates the geology in the area. The Berry area has seen considerable exploration activity since the early 1950s.

DION
The Dion claims are located 35 kilometers east of the town of Snow Lake. This area has seen only limited exploration work over the last 40 years. Previous operators have located high radioactivity in the intrusive granite pegmatite within metasedimentary and mafic metavolcanic rocks. Callinan optioned these claims in 2007, and carried out a VTEM survey over the property in the summer of 2008. This survey located several anomalous areas, which were investigated further during the 2008 fall program. This program consisted of a detailed prospecting and sampling program. The program uncovered several areas with anomalous uranium values coincident with VTEM anomalies. Any upcoming drilling will be prioritized in the area with the strong EM response near the main uranium showings.

HERBLET
The Herblet claims, located just north of the Berry claims, are in a similar geological setting as both Berry and Dion. During the summer of 2007, a VTEM survey was carried out over the property locating several anomalies. Callinan plans to do further prospecting work to investigate the VTEM anomalies, as well as drill testing.

SNEATH LAKE
The Sneath Lake property consists of 1,023 hectares south-west of the Anderson Lake mine in Snow Lake, Manitoba. The property is located southeast of the Chisel Lake and Chisel North mines, and near HudBay Minerals' new copper zinc discovery at Lalor Lake.

Previous drilling on the property by Callinan Mines intersected mineralized sections grading up to 1.1% copper and 3.5 % zinc.

A VTEM survey flown in the spring of 2007 has given the company a deeper view of the conductive bodies at Sneath Lake, and suggested additional, deeper mineralization.
